Hello! My name is Lillian Hinshaw, I am 22 years old and a recent college grad with a degree in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Spanish. Over the last 8 years or so, I have been working with children in many different capacities. I was a nanny in Denver for a year, I have worked in three different schools (a pre-school, an elementary school, and a high school), and have spent many summers working at child care centers or camps. In 2016, I moved myself to Peru to live on an orphanage and help the community there! While I was abroad, I taught English and also served as a house mother where I raised 13 girls under the age of 15. Most recently (besides student teaching), I have worked as the middle school program director and curriculum designer for a youth center in downtown Denver, serving at-risk Read more youth. Due to my experience, I have worked with children with an array of behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, and a wide range of traumas. This has made me patient, understanding, resilient, compassionate, and innovative in the ways I choose to interact with children. I am bilingual (and willing to teach Spanish to anyone wanting to learn this vital skill!) and have experience in planning educational activities that are fun, engaging, and creative. I am very adventurous, I love to be outside, and am extremely family oriented (which is why I know how important it is for a nanny to project a positive familial structure). With my experience, I am looking for a family who is loving, fun, and respectful of all people. I will offer tutoring, light housekeeping, pet care (I LOVE dogs), and meal prep in addition to spending time with the kiddos. I am CPR certified, a non-smoker, and have a clean driving record.
