I've recently finished my degree in liberal arts through a year abroad at Oxford University. I've enjoyed the summer in Boulder working for a farm to table called Meadow Lark Farm Dinners. Having grown up in Mexico, I can speak both English and Spanish. I'm 22 years old, gentle-mannered, but able to be firm when necessary. My father is the executive director of an outdoor education program called Cal-Wood near Jamestown, Colorado. It's a residential center that teaches fifth graders about nature, in nature. I've worked here with kids of all ages for many summers as a camp counselor. When in high school, I coached a soccer team of fifth-grade Latinos for two seasons. Also, I assisted in teaching an after school science program at Columbine Elementary School. I also taught a Robotics Lego summer camp at the University of Colorado, running classes and helping to make the curriculum. Apart Read more from spending time with kids, I love engaging them in interests like playing and music, reading, the out of doors, going to museums, sports, helping them with their homework if they have any, cooking, being curious about the world, and doing what they like to do -- playing Legos for instance! I charge around $15-16 an hour depending on the situation, and am willing to negotiate, and if you'd like, I'd happily teach lessons in music or Spanish for a bit more. I can teach piano, guitar, basic singing, and music theory. I'll be available from just after the New Year till last week of April, and may be around after mid-May. My weeks are busy, but I'm free during the weekend. It would be ideal to nanny full days on the next three or so months of weekends. I have strong work references.
