For past three years I have been taking care of twin boys who will be 7 1/2 years old this summer! I worked part time. Now that the boys are in grade school, the family does not need regular child care. They have provided a recommendation for me below. I have experience caring for singles, twins, triplets and siblings of different ages. I helped one evening a week for a year with a set of quintuplets. I worked for 5 or 6 years as head teacher in a YWCA Infant Toddler Center. I was so interested in child development during that time that I enrolled at the Univ. of Missouri Early Childhood Psychology and Development Masters program. My undergraduate degree is in English and secondary teaching. I have also been the librarian and resource person at an elementary school. In my last job, the twins and I went to the park, biked, walked and played regularly. We liked to cook and bake together. We did lots of seasonal activities. When I take care of infants, I provide parents with a daily update on eating, diaper changes, growth and development as well as noticing anything out of the normal that might be illness. I have trained in CPR but, thank goodness, have never had to use it. I work with families with older children on consistent discipline using time out when needed and age appropriately. I am happy to prepare food - especially healthy food, do light housekeeping, and fold laundry. Please contact me to see if we might be a match.
