Hello! My name is Ellyce and I just graduated from UCCS with a degree in Communication and minored in Theatre. I have always loved working with children and teens and thought my best option for a fun summer job would be to do a part time babysitting gig that will hold me over until late September. For those of you who have children and full-time jobs, I can imagine stressing over finding a good babysitter to be very stressful. I have tutored elementary-high school students and have recently created an entire program for the Boys and Girls Club teens (ages 13-18). The Boys and Girls club really helped me to develop a great understanding about how children learn and grow through the different stages of their lives. We did things like teaching kids sign-language, earning community service hours, and taught them how to become organized with school work. I have Read more always loved working around kids and really always considered myself to be a big kid. I am CPR certified for all ages (infant-adult). My summer will be to dedicating my time to your children and making sure that while you are at work they are getting great guidance and also having fun with someone who is a great role model. I am very involved in volunteering within the community and if that is something your children would be interested in we can discuss that at our first meeting. I find that using "Love and Logic" is the best way to get through to kids and teenagers. I am also a part of the "Children's Alliance" which is a group of counselors from all over Colorado who gather to talk about how to make schools a safer place for kids and teenagers. I am a behavioral specialist within that corporation and have a certification. I have always been a very good listener and will work side-by-side with any parent that wants the best babysitter/nanny/mentor for their child. If your child needs help with school work or reading/ writing, I am more than willing to help with any homework your child might need to complete. I love to be outside during the summer so having children that are active is very important to me. I live in northern Colorado Springs and have a pool, so if your children would like to enjoy hot summer days outside and swimming that is also an option. Overall, I am a very normal and easy-going person who has lived in Colorado for 14 years and anyone who lives in this beautiful state is pretty great in my book.
