My name is Eliza! I am currently a student at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am studying Speech Language Hearing Sciences and intend to head to grad school for speech pathology after graduating. I also plan on going through the teacher licensure program to receive my license to teach at some point after graduating. I lead a healthy lifestyle, where I enjoy running and being outdoors. I love children, I always have. Especially infants! I am a creative person and I love drawing and engaging in any sort of creative process. I have nannied since I was fourteen, working with a family of three boys- (one 6 year old and twin 3 year olds). I worked with this family for 2 summers until they went off to school. Following this I worked with a family that had one little boy. I started with them when he was 10 months Read more and continued working with them until I went off to school-he was 4 when I left for college. I traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Beaver Creek, and several other places with them as their live in nanny. After my freshman year in college I worked at a Little People's Landing (child care center). Although I got experience with all of the ages up through the preschool classroom, I primarily worked in the infant room (6 weeks old to 10 months old). This was by far my favorite age group to work with. Occasionally when I have a free weekend I babysit a little girl with Downs Syndrome. I have learned so much from her and greatly enjoy every chance I get to spend time with her. I currently do speech therapy twice a week with a four-year-old boy who has Autism. I also do speech therapy twice a week for an 82 year-old man who experienced a stroke. I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with these individuals and the results are incredibly rewarding. I am a very responsible, reliable person but I also consider myself to be very kind and fun. I have a house in Boulder as well as a place to stay in Denver depending on where I end up working so I am flexible with regard to location!
