Hello! My name is Katie and I love being a nanny/babysitter! I am currently finishing up my last semester at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO and will be graduating with a degree in Environmental Studies this December, 2014. I began babysitting when I was 14, sitting for neighbors and family members and continued babysitting throughout high school with many great families and kiddos! I also worked at an elementary school as an aid for their after school program for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed that position and getting to work with such great kids from pre-school age to 5th grade. After graduating high school, I moved to Durango to attend college and met some great families and am so glad I am able to continue babysitting while going to school. I was a nanny for a family the Summer after my first year of college and helped out with Read more their premature, new born twins and 2 year old. Their twins had very high needs as they were both on oxygen and one was on a feeding tube. Along with all nanny duties I had with the kids, I ran errands, cleaned the house, and cooked meals for the family. I have also been an early morning nanny for another family in Durango for the past two years, getting to their house at 5:30 a.m. and getting their daughter up and ready in the morning and dropping her off at pre-school. I have also babysat for another family for a year and a half and watch their 2 month old and 2 year old and usually work 11-12 hours at a time due to the parents' busy work schedules. I babysit for other families whenever I can and am comfortable watching kids of all ages. I am very patient, kind, loving and want to make sure the kids I watch enjoy the time I have with them by playing games, doing arts and crafts, reading, playing outside and anything else they have interests in! The greatest joy to me as a sitter is watching kids grow, learn and have fun in a safe, caring, and nuturing environment. Since I am graduating soon, I am looking to babysitt/nanny full time and I have also received training is CPR by American Red Cross. I have been so lucky to be welcomed into so many families as a caregiver for their children and have enjoyed all of my experiences so far and hope that I will have many more to come!
