I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Ed. I have taught from pre-K to 12th grade over the last 18 years. I believe that children need to be nurtured, feel safe and are given numerous opportunities for engagement. I love taking kids out in the community, the zoo, history museum ECT. I believe in reading to a child everyday. Kids need to get out and play. They need to be encouraged to think outside the box - making up their own games/rules. Not everything is black and white. If we allow it, kids truly live in the gray. We, as adults need to know how to enrich those gray areas as opposed to squashing it. Easier said than done. Oh, and I absolutely love being outside during the summer months. I am not a TV watcher.
