I am a student at UNC going into my third year of school for elementary education. I have volunteered at various schools since I was in middle school. I enjoy being around children and am very patient with them as well. As a child during summer my dad, a teacher, kept me involved in outdoor activities, field trips, and constantly keep me in a learning environment. Whether it's going to the pool, supervising outdoor play, or even taking a walk around the neighborhood, there is always time to learn and engage the child in conversation. I believe it is important for children to stay active, and have fun learning throughout the summer rather than sit and watch TV all day.
