21 years ago I was fortunate enough to give up my Corporate job and become a 'stay at home mom' for my 2 boys. 5 years later, with 3 full-time daycare children and the new title of 'Neighborhood Mom', our 3rd son joined in on the fun. Over the years I became part of some special families' lives. I've had children as young as 6 weeks old under my care until they turned 5/full-time school age. I provided before/after school care for these children as well, and was a key 'Contact Person' for the school when a child was ill and needed to be picked up. I (and my family), became very involved with a family and their 3 month old Down syndrome son. For 5 years we were blessed with the joys and experiences of this sweet boy. He was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at 18 months and I Read more was 'hands-on' with his doctors visits and lifestyle change over the next 4 years. He brought such 'meaning' and fulfillment to our lives which we will Never forget. I consider myself a 'well rounded' provider, an Artist, music, animal, out-doors lover, who believes in creating a compassionately structured care for children of all ages. My boys have also felt very, very lucky to have had the experiences of growing and learning with these kids, and I feel certain it has created an awareness and compassion for children that would not have otherwise been instilled.
