We are a small family who thrives on being outdoors, eating healthy (organic mostly), exercising, reading, learning & parenting a 6 year old boy. We also have Sage, our family dog. My husband & I are educated & currently we are both teachers in the midwest who have decided to move to Colorado to pursue our love of being in the mountains. We have been teaching 19 and 17 years respectively. (My husband recently retired from Army National Guard after 21 years.) We plan to move to Colorado during the summer of 2015. I would likely be able to start a nanny position in August of 2015. I teach middle school (currently grade 8), Science. My husband has taught middle school Social Studies, and currently teaches high school World History & Advanced Placement World History. We each have our Masters in Education. Our 6 year old son attends Kindergarten. I Read more have decided to pursue other opportunities outside of teaching. While I do not have experience of being a nanny, I do feel that I can fulfill the duties of being a nanny for a family who has similar interests & values. I am looking for a family who; are professionals, have a routine schedule (Mon. - Fri.), non-smoking, offers vacation time or who are also on a school/teaching calendar. Ideally I would like to be able to take my son to school & pick him up, however, I'm am open to see how different types of schedules will benefit & be appealing for both of our families. I would be able to complete grocery shopping, light housekeeping, & other miscellaneous errands to help your family stay organized. In our family we instill effective, calm, kind & loving discipline for our son. We take time to explain why certain behaviors are not acceptable & praise behaviors that show maturity, learning & kindness. We do not yell, berate or threaten our son. For our students in our classrooms, we instill the same respectful guidelines. I will have exceptional letters of reference if you are interested in learning more about me. I am qualified to be your nanny. My years in teaching have provided for me excellent skills in; parent/adult communication, student/kid communication & relationships, organization, leadership roles for various committees, having daily presentations/lessons ready, labs that actively engage kids for learning & an overall a commitment to others.
