Hi, I'm Meghan. In January I started my completely online degree program at Post University for my Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have nannied for 4 years in the past, and I have really missed being in the field. I was previously working as a veterinary technician at a local animal hospital. I have 3 dogs and a cat, so I'm completely open to families with pets. I am a non smoker, and have my own family safe SUV. With the last family I nannied for I helped out with light house work, and preparing meals for the children, and packing lunch for school. I was also responsible for driving the children to and from daycare. I also went through "in's and out's", potty training routines, and teething. I grew up with a large family, and was always surrounded by kids and helped out whenever I could, being Read more the 2nd oldest of 13 grandchildren that is. I've generally worked with children between the ages of 1 and 6 years, 3 girls, and one boy. (All 3 of the families had pets). I was also a youth softball coach for 3 years, and coached a junior varsity softball team at Shelton High School from 2006 until 2010. I also taught the junior varsity winter-guard at Shelton Intermediate School from 2006 until 2011. I love spending time outdoors with my dogs, taking them hiking or swimming. One thing I really enjoyed doing with the kids that I nannied was taking them to playgrounds, or just out in the back yard and letting them run around, and use some of their energy with a game of tag or catch. The only requirement I'd have is that homework gets done first thing when the kids come home, so they don't fall behind in their studies. I have several references who would be happy to talk with you about my time with their families, and how their children's best interest was always my greatest concern.
