Childhood is a magical time. I love being a nanny because working and being around children has always brought joy to my heart and soul. Children keep us on our toes, and allow us to look at life with a creative, adventurous, and open mind. It's a privilege and an honor to provide children with a safe and loving space to explore the world around them, build confidence, and nurture their imaginations. I have more than 5 years experience as a nanny as well over 15 years in day care centers as well as being Reggio Emilia trained and Montessori trained. I've been an Assistant Daycare Teacher in multiple classrooms, and a Head Daycare Teacher. I've worked with ages ranging from infant to grade school. Drawing, reading, outdoor play and dress up (make believe) are my favorite nannying activities because through them, I travel into a child's world and help them slay the dragon or help them to draw their baby sister in their mother's arms for their family to put on the fridge. I'm gentle, but firm with regards to the rules. Consistency provides stability, which is an important foundation for a child's future. A solid foundation increases their self confidence, which in turn will help them to succeed in life. Children that are self confident are more likely to try new things, and are less likely to be intimidated by fear of failure. I encourage learning to "fail forward" from a young age, turning mistakes into learning experiences and stepping stones for success.
