Hi my name is Heather, my experience with children spans over 35 year of Early Childhood Education and being a Childcare Giver. My career concentration has been mainly with children ages 6 weeks old to 11 year of olds. I’ve been a Site Director/Head Teacher with a Before and Afterschool program since 1984, charged with a staff of 10, and caring for 56 children daily. I have directed the summer program since 1997, the camp runs 9 weeks, activities include arts and crafts, outdoor play, water games, sports activities, music, reading, and theatre. I love being spontaneous with children following their lead when it comes to what they would like do, I also enjoy messy activities and crafts, along with these activities brings clean up at all times. I have attained certification in First Aid, CPR, Allergen Epi-Pen, Early Childhood (State of Connecticut), Head Teacher Certificate (State of Connecticut). My Read more early career was spent as childcare counselor, home based childcare, private nanny, baby sitting, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. As you can see, childcare is just not a profession, it’s a passion. I bring to children the experience of happiness, safety, play time, and life skills, while learning through sight, sound and touch. My personal interests include crafts, reading, travel, cooking, and outdoor activities, pet care, dog walking. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to bring these gifts and talents to your family.
