I am a mature, healthy and active woman who finds great joy caring for young people: newborns, infants and toddlers in particular. My babysitting days began in 1968 when I was 12 and the young couple across the street from my home entrusted me with the care of their newborn daughter. I knew then that I had found my life's purpose! The years have led me from babysitting neighborhood children to summers spent as a volunteer teen-aged camp counselor for 3rd-9th graders to a summer job as the Arts & Crafts Director of that camp to finally pursuing my higher education. Since then, I've cared for children at daycare centers, in nursery schools and have taught kindergarten, but have consistently returned to what I love and do best: one-on-one babysitting. Thirteen wonderfully chaotic years of my life were spent living with a Wellesley, MA family as their full-time nanny, beginning Read more with caring for their 8 week old firstborn and ending with "maintaining order of a blended household" of four children aged 10 through 16 and several dogs and cats. My time only ended with them when the mother wished to take an indefinite leave from her full-time teaching career. My most recent position offered me the opportunity to care for a 5 month old while his mother fulfilled her final semester contract as a teacher. She's now happy to be at home with that little guy and I'm eager to get back to doing what I love best: one-on-one babysitting!
