Hello! I am Katherine Bucheli, I am 41 years old from Quito, Ecuador. I speak both Spanish and English fluently. I had the fortune to travel the world and I have been in every continent of the world. I am a dependable babysitter with multicultural experience in children. I am devoted to helping children think creatively, solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others. My most recent nanny job lasted from may/2014 to may/2015. I worked for the family Ganow in Canyon,TX that had 2 young girls, ages 6 and 1. I was responsible for a lot of different aspects of day-to-day, from making breakfast for both girls, to preparing the older girl for school in the morning. The younger girl required bottles, diaper changes, and regular care and attention. However, I was able to do light housework, as well as prepare dinners during the day while the younger girl Read more napped. Also, I helped with any after school activities or assignments that needed to be done before bathing the girls before bed. My first job as a nanny was with Krista Mullenix, a registered nurse at the BSA hospital in Amarillo. I worked with her from 01/2011- 01 /2013. Her kids were ages 16, 13 and 9. I was responsible for transporting her children to school, helping her children with their homework, preparing meals, doing laundry and providing a positive environment where all their basic needs were attended. Also, I worked for summer camp with children ages 5-12 in 2011. I worked with other counselors helping to design learning activities aimed to meet various activities such as crafts, nature walks, sing-a-longs, games, swimming, archery, and bowling. In a normal day, I cared for 7 children on a daily basis, and guided them through the day’s designed learning enrichment activities. My daily duties included identifying and responding to each individual child’s needs, working with children to overcome behavioral issues. I have a Masters of Arts in psychology, with a focus on child psychology and development. Additionally, I became a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I am currently studying a certification in Mindfulness at UMass to work with children and teach them how to use techniques to reduce stress, improve focusing and concentration and manage of emotions. Being able to teach a child something new and have fun at the same time is the most rewarding for me and allow me to develop skills to support my counseling abilities.
