Hello Moms, Dads, and little ones,
I am now seeking a family living in the greater New Haven area or greater Fairfield area needing M-F help. I am kind and calm, fun and energetic, a skilled, experienced nanny. Your child will play and learn with safe supervision, nurturing care, guidance and discipline. I am committed to a family's needs, with responsibility and punctuality.
Most recently, an adorable 1 1/2 yo and bright 5 yo have been in my 25-35 hours weekly care for 1 and 1/2 yrs. Currently, I am with them for one night a week, now that both children attend a day program. I enjoy sharing their individual sparkling personalities! The toddler is now engaging with a wide variety of toys, fast walking, and I love supporting her advancing communication with conversation, music and reading. The effervescent kindergartner is very creative. His current interests include indoor/outdoor learning fun; baking, botany and engineering activities - and beginning sibling co-play. Puppy makes three!
Prior, I had the successful experience of caring for two babies from separate families, often simultaneously, when family commitments required an overlap of scheduling resulting in Nanny Sharing. My care of the oldest of these 2 children lasted from the age of 1yo to 2 1/2 yo. I had the pleasure of watching her reach many developmental milestones, and am proud to have been an important role model.
My first nanny position was very happily caring for a 6 mo old baby (& pet dog) who moved on to preschool at 3 yo. She kept me on my toes and in awe of her developing personality. We had so much fun visiting several local parks/playgrounds, listening to music, dancing, sharing in imaginative play, arts, reading and exploring nature. We continue to enjoy meetups which are a precious experience for me every time!
I am great at diffusing tears and tantrums into a happy and productive atmosphere. In addition, nursing feeding, potty training, managing light household tasks including child's laundry, and tidying are very familiar. I am respectful of all styles of child-rearing. I am easygoing, compassionate, and adaptable. We can share information and helpful hints if you like.
I am available Monday to Friday. Thank you for reading through my bio, let's talk soon!

This reference is written per request as a letter of recommendation for Shelley M. Shelley began providing us with full-time childcare in January 2012 for our then 7-month-old daughter. She has watched her continuously since that time, gradually decreasing her responsibility to once per week as our needs for a sitter have changed. Her duties have consisted of daytime care to include all essentials; feeding, changing, naps, light house work, age-appropriate stimulation, bonding, etc. Shelley has been a most reliable, trustworthy and valuable asset to our daughter’s development and to our family at large. She is attentive, caring and has been able to form a wonderful relationship with our daughter during some of her most formative years. She is also very responsive to my requests as mom which served to make the transition back to work easier. We have a high degree of gratitude and regard for her services and will hopefully continue to keep her a part of our family. In short, Shelley comes very highly recommended.
