Hello, I'm Alicia, but most people call me Ali. I'm a 35 year old professional who is looking to leave the world of finance to work as a full time nanny. I've been an executive assistant for almost 6 years now with the same Fortune 500 company. My mother's cancer diagnosis three years ago began my journey as a caregiver. I lived with her as her primary caretaker for two months while she received treatment for two consecutive years. Unfortunately, in January she entered hospice, and again I was able to be her primary caretaker, living with her until she passed in March. Caring for her was deeply emotional, heartwarming, challenging and not only a gift to her but also to me. I knew then that I wanted to devote my life to those, young and old, in need of care. This is my heart's calling. I would like a Read more permanent/long term position with one family so that I can become very familiar with them and better fill their needs. I live in Monroe, CT and own a full size sedan with heated seats in the front and rear for cold winter days and I have a clean driving record. I am an animal lover (I have a dog and cat of my own), so I'm comfortable with pets of all sizes. I'm also comfortable and familiar with homework assistance, school drop off/pick up, grocery shopping, singing nursery rhymes, reading for storytime, shuttling to after school activities, medication reminders, medication administering, meal prep, bed changes, diaper changing, assistance and safe support standing, sitting and moving about, catheter changes, bed baths, limb massage, companionship, conversation, transportation to appointments, errand running, positive encouragement and all around nurturing.
