Hello, my name is Jaime! I am 33 years old, and I have been a nanny for over 15 years!! I have my A.S. in Early Childhood Education and graduated with a 4.0 from SUNY Canton. I am currently working towards my B.B.A. in Early Childhood Care and Management! I first realized my passion for children with the birth of my younger sisters. Being the oldest, I took the responsibility of helping my mother with my siblings very seriously, and I learned so much about caring for children from a very young age. By the age of 12, I was already babysitting other people's children, and as I got older, I started to teach my own Sunday school class at church. During high school, I spent my summers as a camp counselor as well! After I graduated high school I wasn't sure that I wanted to attend college, so I Read more got my first nanny job watching an infant of 6 months. During the 4 years that I was with them, they had another baby, and I had two kids under two in my care! The oldest was also diagnosed with autism, so I have experience with children that are on the spectrum as well. When they no longer needed me I moved on to search for a new family. I was with my next family for seven years; they are like family to me! When I began, they had 3 children, but by the time I left there were 5 kids in all! This job gave me experience in handling an infant, toddler, and school-age children simultaneously. I brought them to many extracurricular activities such as dance class, gymnastics, soccer practice, and swim lessons. I dropped them off at friends' houses and picked them up from camp and school as necessary. It was a very demanding job and I loved every second of it! The children got older, so I left and moved to Brooklyn in September of 2019 when I was offered a nanny position I couldn't refuse! I had always wanted to live in the city, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. The child was 6 months old, and we became best friends! I loved taking him to music and dance classes in the park and story time at the library (until the pandemic). Unfortunately, in June 2021, they decided to move out of the city. Since then, I have worked for two other families. I currently work in Park Slope part-time for a family with two children, but I am looking for another part-time job for the summer (and possibly longer).
