I am the 3rd oldest and oldest girl of 20 grandkids on my dad's side. I grew up with babies and children in my arms. Two of those grandkids are my younger twin siblings, they are 7 years younger then me so that also gave me a lot of experience. I started babysitting my cousins and neighborhood children throughout Jr. High and high school. I was also in Girl Scouts through 12th grade. I achieved the Silver Award, and our troop ran several events for younger Girl Scouts. After high school I worked at Tutor Time as an assistant teacher for a year. Mostly in the toddler room but depending on the ratios I bounced around caring for 6 mo. -5yr olds. I was asked to be a Nanny for one of the toddlers in my class and her newborn brother. They had a third child a few years later. Read more I was with them for about 5 years , we are still really close and I visit when I can. I went to school in N.Y.C and Orlando for a couple years, still watching them in the summer. I also babysat for a network of their friends(sometimes I had 8 kids if they were all together) all the mothers had "my number on speed dial". I have worked for the family I am with now for 2 1/2 yrs, the kids are now 5 & 8. This past mother's day I received a text from their father saying although I am not a mother yet, I care for his children like they were my own. I am Aunt Kerri to all of my friends children, and I love them. I care for all children this way,I love to create a bond with them. They know they can come to me for anything. By paying attention to who they are I can nourish their talents and passions while helping them with anything they find difficult. I can be goofy and silly, but I am firm when necessary. I do like to keep a set of rules and a steady schedule. Children thrive off of stability and structure. I love trying new things and this has made me a well rounded person, which makes it very easy for me to find things in common with any child. I love arts and crafts, doing hair and nails, sports, comic books, reading, making forts, music, board games and anything out doors.
