I have years of childcare, substitute teaching, and medical training coupled with maturity, dependability, honesty, patience, and warmth. Who am I? I am a  high energy, very active, happily married, grandmother. I am certified in first aid & CPR. I offer parents peace of mind so they can leave the house and enjoy themselves. For over 5 years, I have been the nanny for a little boy starting when he was just 3 months old.  He  started school 5 mornings a week, which leaves me now caring for him evenings.  For over 3 1/2 years, I've also worked part time for a family with 3 children (ages 7,5,3).  Since Jan., I've been the after school nanny for 3 children (ages 7,5,3) Over the many years of being a childcare provider,  I have watched dozens of children of all ages.   I love to take the children out of doors going Read more for long walks pointing out nature's finest. Other activities I also enjoy sharing are: silly songs, reading books aloud, arts & crafts, indoor & outdoor games, and playing lots of make believe. And of course, there's homework too. Until Sept. 2011. I was a substitute teacher at the Cobb Montessori School. Previously, I was a medical assistant for 14 years, until I took a job as the Director of Medical Assisting Education at the Morse School of Business, formerly of Hartford. After it closed, it was time to give my full attention to my passion for child care. I ran the morning program at a children's playroom, worked briefly for KinderCare, and for a pediatrician.  I have a great love of pets.  I have 4 cats and a chihuahua dog named Ruby.  All were rescued and all get along extremely well.  They are a lot of fun and make me smile and laugh every day. I do volunteer work at the "Gifts of Love" in Avon.  They distribute food, clothing, and household goods to needy families.  This is a great group and I'm happy to be able to give back to my community. My caregiving philosophy is: 1. Keep them safe  2. Keep them happy  3. Keep their minds stimulated  4. Treat them as I would my own child
