My professional experience is diverse having worked several direct care and administrative positions with both children and adults for the past 6 years. I am from West Haven, CT and I currently work for ACES which stands for Area Cooperative Educational Services. I work with students who have various intellectual challenges and who are also on the Autism Spectrum using evidenced based behavior techniques. I graduated high school in 2003, then continued my education at Central CT State University and graduated in 2010. There I pursued a Major in Psychology with a double Minor in Criminology and Sociology. While pursuing my undergrad, I began working in the human services field. My first job was working as a child mental health specialist at Boys and Girls Village in Milford, CT. There I provided therapeutic services to children who who in the beginning stages of getting foster care due to unsafe conditions Read more in their home. Assisting them with homework, speech, and occupational therapy sessions, coping mechanisms and life skills, I also worked with adults with special needs on mastering their social, vocational, and academic skills to become successful in the community. I am 30 years old, and I am actively pursuing a Master's Degree in Social work next spring. I am Energetic, determined, and self-motivated to produce and perform at high levels, I possess strong interpersonal skills with valuable strengths in leadership, guidance and innovation In addition to my skills, I am CPR certified, DDS med certified and PMT certified. I also have been involved in sponsored activities within the community that have provided me with a well-rounded background suitable for the position.
