I was looking for someone who would be able to keep about 10-15 kids entertained while I hosted an adult party who's children were present. In the job description, as well as in our interview, I mentioned that the children were allowed to mingle with their parents at the party, but I simply wanted someone to keep the kids fed and content (basically, bare minimum assistance). We did not see/hear my kids all night, despite the fact that they were in the same room as us! The children never left Adrienne's side. They were consistently engrossed by her ability to entertain, nurture and captivate their imaginations. She even had my four-year-old son who is very socially reserved telling jokes and stories to the other children present! Despite the vast ages, she kept all children (aged 3-13) satisfied and engaged in a multitude of activities. She is a gem. At one point, I had begged her to let me give her a break from my sleep deprived three-year-old who was being less than cooperative with other kids. Of course she declined, and enthusiastically went about with her exemplary services. Even my pessimistic husband and visiting father who rarely compliment others were appalled by her talent. Another pleasant surprise was her impressive willingness to travel. I was incredibly fearful of the distance she would have to drive to get to our venue, and braced myself for yet another no-show. She assured me that no matter the circumstance, she WOULD find a way to get there. Of course she did. Being new to the area, she left her home in Maryland extremely early and reported to our venue about 1.5 hours away over two hours early. In many cases, a provider will depart within minutes of receiving payment, however Adrienne stayed to rock my daughter to sleep for an extended period of time following guest departure.
