I currently live in the Queen Village/Buena Vista section of Philadelphia where I have life for my entire life.  I do not currently have a full time job, however I am working as a nanny for someone else.  I am giving up my job in January because I am in school at Temple University.  I am majoring in Elementary/Early Childhood Education.  I was expecting to be student teaching, but it doesn't seem as though this is going to happen.  I have wanted to be a teacher since my younger sister was born; I was only 4.  Since then, I have helped take care of her, and eventually became a mother's helper to others.  Once I was old enough, I started babysitting on my own.  I do not have any children of my own, although I plan to have a family of my own one day.  Generally, I babysit for several Read more different families.  Two families each have two boys ranging in age from 10 months to 4 years; two other families each have 2 girls aging from 2-6.  I also babysit twin 9 year old boys and another girl who is 10 years old.  I have experience with all age groups of children, however, I generally prefer younger children.  The 10 month old that I nanny for now, as well as a 2 year old boy that I babysit, I have taken care of since the day they were born.  I do no have any lifestly rules that would affect my ability to care for your child(ren).  As far as a a sitting philosophy, as long as the children are happy, and well taken care of, I feel as though I am successfully doing my job.  I believe in a lot of physical activity whether it be the playground or running around the house; exercise is very important for younger children.
