Throughout my life, I have always thoroughly enjoyed being a caregiver. Whether for my little sister Olivia, or my rowdy little brothers, it has always been a source of sincere pride to provide excellent care for young children. When my little sister Olivia was born 6 years ago, I immediately became her second mom. Accepting the responsibilities of an elder sibling to a baby girl has extensively qualified me for a variety of caregiving scenarios. During Olivia's childhood, my parents depended on my caregiving competence to nurture my little sister into a bright and intelligent young girl. They had previously witnessed the exceptional care I provided to my younger brothers, now 16 and 17, when they were 6 and 7. They knew I could be trusted with their little angel. Olivia and I often spent days playing and learning together. Whether discovering counting by playing with blocks or having some Read more fun at the park, we enjoyed every moment. Obviously it wasn't all learning and games; I was also tasked with changing her diaper, prepping her meals, and preparing her for and driving her to daycare when she was ready. Caring for my baby sister has taught me more lessons than I could possibly mention in this brief bio. However, I've gleaned the principal lesson of caring for a child as if they were my own.
