My last experience as a nanny was working with my neighbor's children, a boy and a girl. I worked with the family for about six years, from the time the children were 2 years old (b) and 5 months (g) to when they were 8 and 6 respectively. My responsibilities were to occupy the kids' time and make sure they stayed active and entertained while their parents worked or went on date nights, and to take care of the children as well. I helped with meal prep (snacks, lunch, dinner), bathtime, nap and bedtime routines, as well as changing the little girl as a baby and helping to potty-train both kids as they grew. Additionally, the boy had special needs: he was severely epileptic and on the autistic spectrum. Because of his epilepsy, he had learning delays and difficulty walking, so I was responsible for giving him his medicine, preparing Read more meals according to his diet restrictions, and making sure he was happy and healthy. His parents taught me how to administer Diastat in the event that he had a convulsive seizure while in my care, which fortunately never happened, but I was always aware that that could be a possibility. I loved working with the family and the kids were adorable and so much fun to be around, but I moved out of state and could no longer work with them. I'm eager to find a great family to help out and am great with kids from infant to preteen! I also love pets and have no problem helping out around the house if need be.
