Hello! My name is Chandler Rogers and I recently graduated from the University of Florida with my Master's degree in special and regular education. I have experience in teaching and caring for children ages 4 months to 10 years old. I was a full-time intern in a kindergarten and then a second grade classroom. I love preparing engaging activities and educational lessons for all children. I am happy to help out with any household chores such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking. I have my own car and my schedule is extremely flexible. As my educational background suggests, I absolutely love children. I love the outdoors and being active, but I also love arts and crafts, reading, and music. One of my favorite activities is reading aloud to children and getting them engaged and participating in reading. I took two courses at UF specifically geared toward teaching and preparing arts and Read more crafts for elementary-aged students - so I feel very comfortable preparing and doing crafts with young children. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to Literacy, which helps children learn to read. I have tons of experience teaching children to recognize letters, produce letter sounds, and write their letters. I also have plenty of educational and engaging materials that I would love to share with your family (including my favorite children's books :) ). I just graduated in December, and although I was offered a job at the elementary school in which I was interning, I decided I wanted to wait until the fall to have my own classroom. Until then, I am substituting around the Gainesville area. Substituting allows me to be extremely flexible, so I am available every day!
