I volunteered for a year with an organization that used horse-riding as a therapeutic tool for physically/mentally disabled children and adults. It was crucial to maintain high vigilance working with vulnerable people around large animals, and I had to be able to accurately read the riders' body language for their endurance capacity. For 5 years, I helped out with the children's programs at the public library. These were all ages and anywhere between 20 and 300 kids. I designed my own children's program centered around the Percy Jackson books and had approximately 30 kids in attendance. I worked at a Vacational Bible School for a summer, in charge of the 7 year old group and moving them to and from locations. I have casually babysat for friends and acquaintances with kids ranging from 9 months to 11 years. I have been CPR/AED certified. My certification expired this year, but I Read more am taking steps to re-certify ASAP. ABOUT ME: I am a 24 year old graduate of UF with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. I am patient and generally on the quiet side, but with a strong protective streak that ensures safety and responsibility. I get along very well with both children and animals. I love play and imaginary games, so have no issue with being both responsible adult and playmate.
