I began my interest in the child care field when I was a sophomore in high school where I started taking Early Childcare Ed classes through my local community college. While taking those classes, I learned a lot about all aspects of children. I worked in a preschool for a few years during high school as well where I implemented what I had learned from my classes in every day life. I planned class activities that required the children to think outside the box and get creative. A few years later, I got a job working for the YMCA as a site director, where I was in charge of planning and executing various before and after school activities for children K-6th grade. I was able to integrate projects and learning activities for all ages. While I was working with these children I was in charge of anywhere between 15-20 children.
