I'm a recent transplant to Santa Fe after having worked in Prague, Czech Republic for 3 years as a preschool teacher. I taught children ages 2-6 from all over the world at an English immersion international school. My primary experience is with 3- to 4-year-old children as lead teacher, but I have previous experience with older children ages 10-13 when I lived in New York City. I'm a Barnard College/Columbia University graduate who is bilingual English/Spanish (was fluent, a little rusty after 3 years in Czech Republic!) with excellent communication and organizational skills. I believe in learning through play, taking safe risks, and maintaining reasonable boundaries for children. Outside play, cooking, open-ending crafting, and child-directed activities are my jam! In Prague, I enjoyed taking children on field trips all over the city using public transport, making homemade play dough, and telling interactive stories. I have extensive experience with ELL and Read more bilingual children, and a strong interest in children's language acquisition. In New York, I traveled all over Manhattan with my kids and navigated public transportation systems while managing their busy after-school schedules. I can twist a mean ballet bun! I have great relationships with past families, whether through nannying, classroom teaching, or English tutoring, and look forward to meeting another wonderful family!
