I am a recent Penn State graduate with a Bachelor's degree in criminology and two minors in French and wildlife science. My past experiences have included educating children of all ages as an educator and day camp counselor at the the Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago and the Chippewa Nature Center in Midland, MI. Last winter and spring I cared for 5 and 7 year old girls after school. I took them to their after school activities, prepared snack, laundered their sheets and clothing and played many games with them at their home and at local parks. As an education intern at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, as an environmental education intern at the York County Parks, and as a public school teacher in Miami-Dade County. I have designed and presented nature presentations for children from ages 3-13, have guided "little explorers" on nature walks, and have taught science Read more to 6th and 7th grade students. I worked as a photographer's assistant for three years scheduling appointments, organizing files, and maintaining general order of the office. Others describe me as very organized and punctual. I have experience teaching and tutoring math and science. I taught a five-week 8th grade summer school math course as well as held a full time position teaching 6th grade advanced and 7th grade comprehensive science. In addition, I worked as a soccer referee for three years before becoming the head coach of a girl's middle school soccer team this past year. Furthermore, I have worked in the food industry for two years and love to cook and bake. Additionally, I am proficient in the French language and am more than willing to enrich your child's environment by using both English and French. I am first aid/CPR/AED certified.
