I have been working in child care since I was about 12, starting with neighborhood children and eventually earning real jobs with children anywhere from a few months old to 12 and 13. My most involved job was caring for twin boys, age 12, who both suffer from autism. I spent after school hours with them, helping with homework and making dinner. I love making kids feel capable of anything and very special. My favorite thing to do with kids is arts and crafts because I love making them excited about doing or making something nice for other people. I am passionate about child care because I remember my baby sitters being a big influence on me and it is important in today's society that kids have someone responsible and positive to look up to!
