Dear Parents, My name is Katherine, and I have been serving all capacities of the childcare industry since 1997; including preschools, after-school care, in church nurseries, internship with special-needs preschoolers, babysitting, and as a full-time nanny. In addition, I have been a certified member of the International Nanny Association. I also spend a great deal of time researching child development by reading many parenting resources, so that I remain current on issues pertaining to modern-day families. In addition, I recognize the vital importance of continuous open communication between the caregiver and the parents. To help achieve this, I keep a Nanny Notebook complete with a daily log to keep you updated on your child's care, along with a formal contract, nanny tax information, copies of updated first aid and CPR cards, and any other essentials that are needed for the parent's peace of mind. While I have worked with children of all ages, most of the children in my care have been infants and toddlers. Philosophically, I believe that learning begins in infancy. When a parent or caregiver responds to an infants' physical or emotional needs in a timely manner, trust is established, thus opening the door to a desire to learn many wonderful things. When I am caring for infants, I spend a lot of time reading to them, cuddling them, singing to them, and playing games with them to help them learn about the world around them.
