I have researched questions that families would like to ask nannies/babysitters - so I copied the questions and my answers below: 1. What do you like about being a nanny/nanny? I like having someone look up to me for assistance in any way. I also love teaching children and answering questions because I still remember being little and wondering about many things such as why is the sky blue, etc. 2. What about being a babysitter/nanny could you do without? Wow - that is a tough one to answer! I would have to say forcing them to do an activity that they don't want to do. I remember once there was a nine year old and he absolutely hated soccer practice. I had to drag him there every Tuesday afternoon and it lasted an hour and a half. I would stay with him and when he was through, he would Read more just sit in my car and glare at me because he was so angry that "I made him do this". 3. Please tell me about three things you most enjoy doing with children. I enjoy being silly and goofy and making children laugh. I enjoy opening there eyes to the world around them and I enjoy explaining things that they never understood before. This site forces you to put in a min/max hourly rate but whether it's a date night or ongoing - I can always try and work with your budget. I know how hard you work to pay for a sitter & some of the rates I've seen or unbelievable. Also - I was a live in nanny for two different families in the 80’s. We’ve lost touch over the years but the first family was for a surgeon & nurse in Galveston, TX. It was for a newborn & a toddler. I would wake up & we would take the toddler to daycare & care for the newborn then pick up the toddler & care for both until the parents came home from work & after they had dinner. I would also put the children to bed & attend to the newborn overnight. The second was for a pilot in The Woodlands, TX. There mother passed away as a young age. It was two boys - 7 & 10. The father was a private pilot & would sometimes be gone a week or two at a time. I would wake them up, make them breakfast, take them to school, pick them up, help with homework - check homework, make dinner, etc. I also took them to after school activities.
