I have spent many of my summers through college working at different summer sleep-away and day camps around the US. I love to play games, to be outside, and to encourage kids to adventure! I hope to bring this kind of experience to kids who won't be able to have it. I've seen camp help lots of kids to try things they wouldn't have when at home, whether it involves developing an appreciation for the outdoors or exploring a new skill. I always try to include opportunities for learning in the activities I do. As far as my experience goes, I've babysat for kids from around 3 to 13 including younger cousins and family. I've worked as a camp counselor with school-age kids from 5-15. I also have experience tutoring, usually for reading but some math too, with elementary and middle school-aged students. Currently, I'm working on my Senior thesis project, for which I've focused on exploring charter schools as an alternative to traditional public schools. I intend to teach at some point in the near future, and possibly to open my own school some day.
