I became a caregiver because I had a friend who felt it was a great fit for someone with my personality and people skills. She had her CNA license since she was in high school, so I trusted her judgement. She ended up having a client who needed someone full time, and my friend could only work part time so she recommended me for the other part. I did a trial run and fell in love with the work and the client and ended up working for them for 3 years. And that family has recommended me to friends’ families as well. I ended up loving the idea of being able to make someone even a little happy by simply helping them. I think my upbeat personality, my patience and my compassion for others is what makes me perfect for the job.
