I am an active mother of two grown children and the grandmother of two. I had taken care of children when my children were young and had always taken care of the newborns and toddlers in our church nursery. Returned to child care fulltime in 2012 after caring for sick loved ones and friends. I was told on occasions I had a loving and a nurturing touch and that I should do something with that. That gave me the idea of going back into child care. Before I became a fulltime nanny I took care of two children for a summer. A 18 month old girl and a 3 year old boy. I still see the mom when I visit Michigan. I was a nanny to a newborn, fulltime, 48 hours a week, for a year last year until the end of her mother's school year and I moved to Read more Florida. She was a joy and a sweet baby, miss her so much. I read to her from day one and she loved books. I would ask her if she wanted to read and she would crawl to the book box and get the books out. Her parents did not allow T V at all, but an occasional Sesame Street Baby video was alright. The baby loved to interact with those, especially the marching, flying, dancing, and picking up the toys parts, very cute. Of course I would have to stand and hold her and do all the marching, flying, and dancing. Smiles totally worth it and fun. She also had this dog on wheels that when you pushed it his head moved and he sang, well she was too small to move it so Miss Gail pushed her around the whole house. She loved it. The very best part of my job was Ava. Everyday to get to a job and have that person so glad to see you does not get better that that.
