I began keeping the nursery at my church when I was in middle school, soon after I was hired by many of the families that had children in the nursery to be an evening and weekend babysitter. When I reached high school I was hired to dress up as a Disney princess and perform at children's birthday parties! I continued babysitting for many friends and teachers throughout high school until my senior year when I accepted my first position as a nanny. This position entailed caring for a 34 year old lady with Down's syndrome and her elderly, wheelchair confined mother. I was also a household manager for the family; I ran daily errands, did the grocery shopping, helped with meal preparation and daily hygiene, assisted with physical therapy provided transportation and made appointments. I am currently in a nannying position caring for three boys, ages 3, 7, and 14. I help this family as a homeschooling teacher's assistant, I plan crafts, events, and field trips, assist with meal preparation, errands, transportation, daily therapies, and light housework. Unfortunately, this family has had some major changes due to health issues so I am not getting the amount of hours I need. I feel as if working with children is the perfect job for me! I am creative, energetic, and very professional. I know that consistency and imagination are essential in caring for a child. I have experience with many different ages ranging from infancy-teen.
