I'm from a small family; myself (21), my brother B. (16), and our mom and dad. I have been living away from my family for three years while in college and have been supporting myself as a nanny. Prior to becoming a Nanny, I worked as a babysitter for kids ages 2-12. Since being away at college, I have worked for two families. The first was a family with two young boys (age 4 and 6). They were energetic, fun, and creative young boys. They loved being outdoors and we spent lots of time building forts, digging trenches, taking the dogs for walks, and playing tag. Duties while I was there included gathering the boys after school, playing with them, doing light laundry, dishes, and cooking, and getting boys ready for bed. This family also had three large dogs that I attended to. I now work for a large family Read more with four kids (two boys age 7 and 12, and two girls age 13 and 15). I have been with this family for almost two years. They have treated me like a member of their family and I have appreciated it so much because I cannot be around my family as much as I used to. Because the kids are a little older, my duties are different from what they were at the other house. I drive the kids to all of their after school activities and do lots of laundry and dishes. My favorite parts of this job are when I get a chance to show my creative side. We love to design Halloween costumes for the kids, make art, and have random dance parties in the kitchen. I also really enjoy helping the kids with school projects and homework. The youngest boy (7) is perfecting his reading and writing skills and I love helping him with this, as I have considered becoming a teacher. I will be leaving my current position to move back to Albany at the beginning of February and am seeking a full time nanny position.
