I have been a babysitter since high school and became a nanny for 2 years before I left for college. I would babysit about 4 different families at a time depending on availability. I have sat for anywhere from 1-7 kids at a time and feel very comfortable with any age group. I like to find interactive things to do with the kids I sit for so that they're entertained and active. In the past, things that have worked best are art projects, baking, music lessons, trips to nearby parks and pools, and scavenger hunts (seriously...kids LOVE scavenger hunts). A little about me: I'm a third year student at UGA and I'm studying Linguistics and Arabic. I speak Spanish and I'm also studying Chinese to fulfill my major's requirements. I've been in band since sixth grade, and I play french horn predominantly, but have also marched mellophone for 6 years, Read more played trumpet in jazz ensembles, and picked up piano and guitar along the way. If the kids are old enough, sometimes I bring my instruments and let them play around a little bit, which is always a big hit with them. Currently I'm teaching horseback riding at a local barn in Athens near my apartment, and I teach all different ages of kids and sometimes adults. Ensuring that the children I care for feel safe and happy while having a fun time is definitely a high priority of mine, and I strive to also ensure the parents' peace of mind as well.
