I've been babysitting since I was 16 years old and I'm 24 now. I have a little brother and growing up, I was also consistently tasked with watching him over the years. When I went to college, I got a job as a caregiver at LA Fitness, where we would watch up to 40 kids a day, ages 5 months old to 13 years old. I worked there for a year and a half. While I was working at LA Fitness, I met a wonderful couple who asked me to start babysitting for their baby a few days a week. Around 5 months later, I was asked to move in with them to begin a job as a live-in nanny, which I accepted. They felt like real family to me. So, I watched their 5 month old son until he was over 2 years old and it was the most Read more fulfilling job I've ever had. We grew up together, in a way. Most recently, I nannied a little girl full-time since she was 9 months old until 14 months old. And since then, I've nannied (full-time) a 2 year old and 5 year old, who've both been wonderful. On top of that, I babysit for a 7 year old boy on some weekends. So, I do have a lot of experience with a range of ages. I've always had a heart for children and for giving children the best experience possible. I'm all about arts and crafts, playing outside, and going on mini-trips to the parks and various museums as well as indoor playgrounds. But the reason I am a nanny is much more complex than the typical "I love children!" (while it is true!). I am a nanny because I love watching how children grow and how they see the world. I am able to teach so many aspects of life, whether it's counting or riding a bike or manners or general advice. I'm able to use my imagination and be creative. I am able to give love and also to receive it every single day. It is the most rewarding feeling to be able to give these things to another human. I love building connections and relationships and there is hardly another job out there where you're able to do that genuinely.
