Hello! My name is Hallie and I am excited and eager to become a nanny as I begin my next chapter in Atlanta, Georgia where I will be earning my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. My love and concern for children began at a young age. My mother was, and still is an elementary Speech Pathologist in Columbus, Georgia. It was through her devotion as a teacher, and as a mother, that I learned how significant the impact of one person can be in child's life. My nanny experience began at the young age of twelve when I took a "Safe Sitter" course at my local hospital. I learned basic first aid and problem prevention. I became a go to nanny for many of my neighborhood families. During my senior year of high school I volunteered at Girls Inc. I assisted with homework, after gym activities and more. It Read more was a blast! I attended Georgia Southern University where I earned a B.A in Art, with a minor in Ceramics. I also took a lifeguard certification course. With a degree in Art I really enjoy implementing crafts and creative projects when nannying. I believe art to be an integral part to a child's development. Art provides a safe environment where children can explore their own creative potential! During my time in college I returned home for the summers and holiday breaks where I nannied for one of my favorite families, the Jenkins. With three boys, William, Jack and Sutton, each two years apart, it was always fun! Needless to say they kept me on my toes, but I loved it. When I began in 2005 they were 4, 6, and 8 years old. My daily duties consisted of homework assistance, light cleaning and cooking, transportation to and from school or soccer, and of course having fun! After college I lived in Vail, Colorado where I worked at the Ritz-carlton for two years. When I wasn’t working at the hotel, I nannied for a co-worker's children twice a week: Jakob, 8 and Bella, 5. After Vail, I moved back to Atlanta to pursue teaching! Since then I have: - Completed my first year of classes at Columbus State University towards an Education degree (possibly Special Education) - Worked at the Boys and Girls Club, ages 6-14 (including some with mild-moderate disabilities) as the assistant art teacher helping with lesson plans, classroom behavior management and making sure everyone was having fun! - Lived with a close friend for two months to help care for her newborn while husband was in Afghanistan
