While studying Health Sciences and Organizational Management at Miami University, I fell in love with the concept of helping others both medically and environmentally. I've played highly competitive tennis for the last 15 years, travelling the country and the world. I played varsity tennis all four years of college and was captain of my team for two of those years. For the last three summers I've taught daily tennis camps and private lessons for kids and adults of all ages. For one year, before I attended college, I was a private travelling tennis coach and mentor for a 12 year old girl who was involved in United States Tennis Association tournaments all around the country. For one year I was a families personal babysitter for their two boys ages 4 and 2 anytime upon their request. I am comfortable babysitting children of all ages. Upon graduation I considered furthering my Read more career in nursing, however was drawn to working with and helping youth in the community. For the next year, while attending prerequisite nursing classes at night, I nannied full time for a family in Chicago who had two boys ages 2 and 6. A few key duties I embraced while babysitting include: create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children. Supervise the children’s activities at all times. Plan and prepare meals and bottles for, and feed, the children. Dress the children. Place the children down for naps and bedtime. Bathe the children. Change diapers. Potty train the children. Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes, cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas, and washing bottles. Teach the children good social manners. My then fiancé (now husband) moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and due to my athletic background in tennis both nationally and collegiately, I took the opportunity to open a tennis academy for aspiring youth and those environmentally challenged. This is where I discovered my enjoyment for managing a business and acquired the qualities and credentials I believe are most relevant to succeeding at my dream job. My husband received a job in Atlanta, Ga that we could not turn down. My philosophy for babysitting is if you work hard you can play hard. For example, if you get all your homework done then we can play a fun game together. I am very into nutrition and exercise and would love to keep the kids as active as possible.
