Full-Time, 10 + Years of Nanny Experience As the oldest of 11 children, I got started early in the field of early care and education. I have been employed in this field for the past 36 years. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education. I enjoy helping bring out each child's gifts and talents, and seeing the world through their eyes. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Kentucky, and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. I have held positions as a nanny; a teacher, a play therapist, and an administrator in exceptionally high quality early care and education programs. Additionally, I have owned my own school, served as an elementary school counselor, and directed Parents as Teachers, an in-home parent education/child development program for parents of children birth through age three years. I have also Read more written curriculum and provided training and support for two national childcare franchising companies, including designing a curriculum for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers based on The Creative Curriculum. I am also very familiar with Montessori, Reggio, and HighScope curricula. I have served as a private consultant to preschools, child care centers, schools and families. I have assisted many early childhood programs in designing and/or improving their programs based on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards. First, middle, and last I love being with and interacting with young children! I am known as a "child whisperer." I am also a life-long learner, taking up violin, guitar, quilting, photography, various computer software programs, and swimming as an adult. One of my favorite places to be is the Atlanta Botanical Garden, of which I am a member. Over the years I have been a nanny to children aged newborn to 9 years old. I enjoy providing developmentally appropriate activities to children in a home environment. I like showing children the world and enjoying their wonder and curiosity.
