Dear Parents, I've been working in childcare on and off for seven years now, most recently as the assistant director and lead teacher of a preschool in Yellowstone for the last three years. I am seeking long-term live-in jobs in the North East for a change of pace from living out West. It’s not everyday one has the honor of being able to help shape the life and character of a young human being. One of my greatest passions is to nurture and inspire children to be intentional, compassionate pioneers for the next generation. My philosophies regarding early childhood development stem from my time at a Waldorf school. In my experience, it is essential to supply children with the tools to explore creative outlets and to provide them with the positive encouragement needed to embrace self-expression. At this Waldorf preschool, I had the privilege of learning how to inspire a Read more sense of wonder, open-mindedness, and autonomy in young children through Waldorf principles. Being exposed to nature and tapping into that curiosity for the world around them is vital to children’s development. Children need the opportunity and space to get messy and experience life fully. I learned that it is imperative to treat children like the individuals they are: understanding that they have their own personality, thought processes, and passions that need to be empowered and respected. Once I’m with a compatible family, I plan to spend my time interacting with the children in constructive ways. There would be space for the children to engage in music, sports, art, movement, and general play during freetime. I am willing to grocery shop and prepare healthy, diverse dishes for the whole family. It’s valuable to me to spend time all together on a regular basis, for instance sharing a meal or bonding over a board game. My intention is to be a part of the family and create meaningful, lasting relationships. I made the difficult decision to resign from my most recent job at the Yellowstone preschool due to the unpredictable COVID. I am very health-conscious and cautious regarding illness of any sort. Since last year, I’ve kept my circle small and worn a mask adamantly. I’m happy to be tested as often as needed and would feel comfortable knowing that whoever is in my circle is also doing their best to keep everyone safe.
