Born and raised in the Island of Oahu, I grew up with a deep culture and understanding of the "Aloha Spirit" which entails treating others with a sincere love and respect, as well taking care of your own and uplifting others. I grew up in a family oriented community, constantly being around children of all ages is no foreign thing for me. Since High School age, I have babysat children of all ages for family and friends. I received A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University of Hawaii. During my internship at BYUH I was tasked to coordinate and facilitate a child-parent interactive groups which ranged from new born's to the age of 2 called "Parenting 101". We covered various topics from health to behavior for infants and toddlers. I am Osha and Food Safety certified, and received both certifications while working as a community worker for Read more Honolulu Community Action Programs. As a community worker I also gained the experience in case managing for families and referring services. I worked as a Adult Supervisor for Kahuku Elementary which allowed me the task of insuring child safety during recreational activities, recess and lunch times. I spent much of my years performing Polynesian dance and educating guest of all ages about the Hawaiian Culture at the Polynesian Cultural Center. This has allowed me the opportunity to become culturally sensitive to all backgrounds because of the diversity in guests that have entered the Center. Overall these experiences have given me the opportunity to know how to provide a loving and safe environment for children to grow and flourish, as well as provide fun activities to help stimulate brain function and learning development.
