have been working with children for as long as I can remember. It started with a babysitting job for a summer when I was 15. I have babysat for many people around the area and my family. For the past 4 years, I have enjoyed working at a daycare. At the daycare center, I worked and I took training once a year on emergency situations and basic caring for children. I am currently attending university in which I have taken a class on Listening. This class has taught me a lot about personalities, how to deal with certain behaviors, and how to effectively talk to someone and get the message across. There was a section of the class in which we talked about children and why they act certain ways. I can use this information to help me work with children effectively. When working with children at the daycare, I Read more have more experience with ages 6 weeks-3 years. I was mostly working with this age group. However, we did switch around once in a while, so I do have experience with all ages. I believe that structure is the key when caring for children. It's important to the child to stay in routine. I also believe that learning is very important for children. They need to understand why things are the way they are, in order for them to learn. I love working with children and watching them learn and grow. Children have an amazing imagination and I like to bring that out in them. I enjoy doing crafts, taking walks, swimming, doing puzzles, and just acting silly with kids. I am not afraid to be silly! :) I am CPR and First Aid certified.
