For the past two summers, I've worked as a camp counselor at the Healthy-U Summer Camp through the Mt. Pleasant Rec Center. My position involved providing leadership, discipline, and counseling services to children of a recreational summer camp (ages six-twelve). I ensured safety and well-being of the children and created a fun and friendly atmosphere. The job also involved planning and leading children thorough art projects, as well as coordinating field trips. I also helped maintain the facility and manage the front desk. I also worked as a childcare provider at the New London Community Childcare Center. I supervised and monitored the safety of children (ages newborn-thirteen) and helped prepare meals and organized mealtimes and snacks for children. I organized activities that allowed children to explore their interests and kept records of children's progress and routines, as well as help maintain the facility.
