Currently, I serve as an instructor/caregiver for a boy with autism who is homeschooled in Brooklyn. Prior, I was a special education teacher who worked with 7th/8th graders in a public school. Working with kids excites, challenges and fulfills me; I feel that I am using my gifts and talents to truly make a difference in the lives of the future! Besides my work teaching a range of ages, my 17 years of experience in care giving extends to both adults and adolescents with cognitive and physical disabilities, family friends and eight nieces and nephews whom I've been blessed to care for on a regular basis. Although I have no family of my own, kids in my care outside of school enjoy imaginative play, putting on plays, building forts, reading books, cooking healthy meals and laughing at our silliness among many other pastimes. I am excited to meet new people, Read more to serve others and to continue positively influencing the future!
