Well, hello there! It feels a bit strange to talk about myself like this; but I guess that's the rule on this site, so here goes: My name is Kathie. I come from a large family and have had to do with children all my life. I love all children -- regardless of age, race, gender, religion, or physical and mental conditions, etc. I look upon them as what they can become and work with them accordingly. I believe children should be taught, not just "tended". They are our hope for the future. I love helping them learn and grow and succeed in all areas of life. I'm not in favor of letting the TV, smartphone, computer, or even toys be the "parent" or "babysitter". I enjoy involving children in real-life, hands-on recreational, educational, and character building activities both indoors and out. I'm one of those adventurous, playful nannies, but Read more I know when to draw the line, too. I love them enough to correct them when they're doing wrong and teach them the joy of doing right. I am kind, patient, cheerful, sensitive, and understanding -- with a healthy sense of humor to boot. In short, I love children! (Yes, I love grownups, too. After all, grownups are just children in big bodies, and children are just grownups in little bodies.) I have never officially attended college, but I did graduate with honors from the twelfth grade. I am well and thoroughly educated and have had years of on-the-job life training and experience that no college could give. I was a volunteer teacher in a private academy for 10+ years and a home-school teacher for a few more. I have also been a private tutor. I have had several children of various ages, personalities, and abilities directly under my personal care and guidance for as long as 4 years at a time. I have taken CPR, Food Safe, and First Aid training. I do not smoke, drink alcohol, or use drugs or profanity of any kind. My background is as clean and clear as you will ever find. As with people, I love and respect all animal and plant life in their places, and I'm always happy to help with family pets, farm stock, vegetable and flower gardens, yards, etc. My rates are determined by how much a family expects of me. Naturally, the fee is more if I am required to do extra cleaning, cooking, and other house or yard work, or if I use my own vehicle and pay for my own gas to run errands, etc. Wow, that was the hardest essay I've ever written; but I appreciate the opportunity for self-analysis. Thank you!
