I have had experience caring far children for much of my life. I started babysitting at the age of 11 and continued throughout high school. For several years I was a teachers aide at a school for severely handicapped children. After that, I had an in home daycare for about 9 years. I cared for about 5 to 7 children at a time ranging in age from 3 months to 8 years old. I took a break from daycare for a while and then cared for a friends child during tax season for several years. For the past 4 years, I have a cared for a now 5 year old boy. While his mom was in school and working I had him full time. Now she is a stay at home mom, but they have become a part of our family, and now he comes to visit. I am also Read more an experienced mom of 3. My oldest is a 28 year old law student, my middle is 26 with a degree in game art, and my youngest is 18 and a freshman in college. I am able to work with children who are close in age or far apart. My middle child had a fine motor and speech delay. I noticed this early, and with therapy he was caught up by kindergarten. He also has Asthma. My youngest has A.D.D. I am ready to go back to caring for children full time, as this is the "job" that I truly love.
